The class will be open next week (half term) and our social night is on Saturday 22nd February at Caterham Community Centre – hope to see you there! It’s a great opportunity to meet other people from our club and to also watch improver and intermediate level dances.

Tue 14th January – Warlingham Beginner + Line Dance Class

Thank you to everyone who braved the wind and rain to come to dance class today! Despite the horrible weather outside, the atmosphere on the dance floor was warm and sunny 🙂 Great to see you all and also to welcome more new members. You all did a fantastic job today.

What a great feeling to be back on the dance floor after our festive break! So good to see you all again and to also welcome some new members. Such a lovely atmosphere in class and I’m so impressed with the enthusiastic way you embraced learning out new dance 🙂

Tue 5th November – Warlingham Beginner Line Dance Class

It was so good to be back in class again today after my half term break. Brilliant to see you all and great to be dancing again. Lovely to meet some new class members – a big welcome to you!

Tue 15th October – Warlingham Beginner Line Dance Class

Today we recapped ‘Simply Mambo’ and everyone did a great job, dancing it twice. We also danced a good number of our other routines. It was great to welcome more new members to our class yesterday and the ladies did a fantastic job of keeping up with us. Well done everyone! Tue 8th October – Warlingham Beginner Line Dance Class

Today we learnt a new dance ‘Simply Mambo’ introducing mambo steps. We danced it twice and and shouted for Tequila, but sadly no one came running in with a tray of Tequilas for us! We also recapped ‘Begin to Swing’, ‘South Sea Shuffle’ and ‘Little Rhumba’ – all of these dances are coming along really nicely. We also danced ‘Cowboy Charelston’, ‘Precious Time’ and ‘Ruby Ruby’. Lovely to welcome more new members this week who did a fabulous job of keeping up with us all.

Tue 18th Sept – Warlingham Beginner Line Dance Class

Today we learnt a new dance ‘Begin to Swing’ introducing a jazz box with a cross and ‘forward rock, back shuffle’ and ‘back rock, forward shuffle’. We danced it twice and everyone did really well, including our newest members. We also danced and recapped some of the other routines we have learnt to date.

Tue 6th August – Warlingham Beginner Line Dance Class

Today we learnt a new dance ‘South Sea Shuffle’ introducing a half turning shuffle. Everyone did a great job of learning this ‘nifty’ little dance. We also danced and recapped some of the other routines we have learnt to date.

Today we danced some of the routines that we have learnt to date. We had a fun hour which passed by very quickly, as always. Time flies when you’re having fun! It was rather warm this week, so well done for keeping up the pace – you earned yourselves a nice cool drink that’s for sure!

Here’s a video of some of our dancers dancing Cowboy Charleston at one of our line dance social nights. These events are always great fun and a good opportunity for you to put into practice dances that you have learnt as well as getting to know other dancers and watching other dances.

New Beginner Line Dance Class

Our line dance class opens on Tuesday 8th January.

It’s not too late to join our dance class – we have a few spaces available. No experience required – just a sense of humour! Our class is fun and friendly and the instruction is easy to follow. We dance to all music genres – pop, rock, Latin, Irish, country and more. We also hold regular social events and weekend breaks. It’s a fabulous way to stay active and a great way to make new friends.

Today we recapped ‘Precious Time’ practicing a ‘1/4 monterey turn’ and a ‘jazz box’. We danced it twice – the second time to a faster track! and everyone did very well. We also danced all but one of the dances that we have learnt to date. Everyone worked really hard – well done! 🙂

Lovely to welcome more new beginners to our class! Each week we will re-cap dance routines that we have learnt to date and add a new routine when the class is ready. It’s great to see that the dance routines are falling into place now and people are beginning to add their own styling now that confidence is growing which is fabulous 🙂
