Dancing in Caterham
We were delighted to be invited back to demonstrate line dancing at the Caterham Street Festival again this year 🙂 It was a beautiful sunny day and as the temperatures rose there were some hot moves on the dance floor at Caterham Community Centre. Thank you to our dancers who came along to demonstrate some of our line dances and to show how much fun line dancing is!
We demonstrated some of our favourite line dances – Islands in the Stream (to Cake by the Ocean), Coastin’, Honey I’m Good, Lipstick Powder and Paint and Celtic Duo. Some of our audience were inspired to have a go and we invited people to join us on the dance floor to learn some dances. We gave instruction for some beginner level dances such as Mamma Maria, Electric Slide, Rocket to the Sun, Do You Remember and more. Everyone did really well and had lots of fun and commented on how friendly and helpful our dancers are.
Here’s a video from last years Festival of the line dance ‘Do You Remember’ – a dance which has been very popular with our new beginners
The Caterham Hill W.I. have sent their thanks to us for joining them in the Community Centre and described it as ”so foot tapping brilliant”
One of the ladies who tried out line dancing at the Festival has already joined our new beginner dance class in Caterham and is making great progress and is thoroughly enjoying this new activity.
